Tusayan Hotels Are Open While Grand Canyon National Park Repairs Waterline

December 4, 2025

The hotels and businesses near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon remain open as Grand Canyon National Park repairs a main waterline.

Lodging within the park boundaries at the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim will temporarily cease operations beginning December 6, 2025 but hotels in nearby Tusayan are not impacted and are open as usual.

Despite the waterline repairs, essential services within the Grand Canyon National Park are still in place and the Park is open to visitors.

The Town of Tusayan is the closest community to Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim.  Its Mayor, Clarinda Vail, wants potential visitors to know the community’s hotels and businesses can accommodate park visitors.

“Tusayan’s waterlines are not impacted by the repairs underway within the Grand Canyon National Park. For those who have booked lodging within Park, you don’t have to cancel your trip to the Grand Canyon. There are multiple hotels in Tusayan that can accommodate additional guests who find themselves displaced because of waterline repairs,” said Vail.

Travelers planning or considering a visit to the Grand Canyon can find information on lodging, where to go, and things to do on Tusayan’s website. Follow the link.
