Fall is almost upon us and a change in visitors.  NPS has their monthly public use report for July showing a decrease of 3.92% over last year.  August Reports are not yet available. Click here for the link to the NPS Reports.  

The Chamber has a robust marketing plan for the fall and winter to help drive business for our off season.  We have increased our marketing dollars by 65% this year thanks to a 25% increase from the Town of Tusayan and by participating in AOT's Rural Co-op grant where they match $ for $ advertising efforts.  I am already pulling together some of our expanded online Facebook campaign.  We are splitting our 6 month Facebook campaign with Madden Media with a 3 month sweepstakes and 3 months general advertising.  If you are interested in offering something for the sweepstakes please let me know asap. 

I am also working on expanding our photo library for Facebook and print advertising efforts.  If you have images you are willing to share please send my way.  I could really use some night sky photos if you have them.

I am please to announce that our VR "Experience the Winter Majesty: Grand Canyon South Rim" is a semi-finalist in the Los Angeles CineFest.  

They will be announcing finalist around Sept 20th - if we make that round I will be contacting all of you for your vote!  We have entered multiple VR competitions to help raise  awareness of Winter in our Majestic Grand Canyon - so fingers crossed to more accolades from the film industry.

Mobile Veteran's Van next week 

Please remind all your staff that the VA will be here again next week - Tuesday September 12th from 10 am - 5 pm they will be parked at the Grand Canyon Recreation Center and Wednesday September 13th 10 1m - 2 pm they will be parked in front of the Tusayan Fire Department.  The mobile van provides services to Veterans and their family members - so please help share this information with your staff.

 Vancouver Travel Show - September 29th & 30th

Anyone interested in attending the Travel Show at the end of this month please let me know soon.  I still have room in our 10 X 10 booth.  WestWind Airlines will be attending with me but we could use a few more hands if you are interested.  10,000 is their expected attendance.  I am also requesting small donations for give-away items we can use in our booth.  25 pens/key chains/post cards etc anything easy to pack in my suite case.
