Arizona Republic Exposes Tusayan Council and Discloses Attorney General Investigation

September 17, 2011

The Arizona Republic is out with a front page story that pretty much spells out the troubles in Tusayan. The most stunning bit of information is that the Arizona Attorney General's Office is investigating. Here is what the paper reported:

A spokeswoman for Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne said investigations are under way regarding potential voter fraud and campaign violations but declined to provide details. An Aug. 31 letter from Horne's office to Mayor Greg Bryan indicates that possible violations of the state Open Meeting Law also are under review.

The report notes trips to Italy provided by Stilo to some of the folks who would become Town Council. The questionable dealings in Tusayan first got the attention of the Daily Sun in Flagstaff, then the regional High Country News. Now The Republic has taken note. The Bonfire story is also front and center and the paper even hints at a possible Stilo connection. It's good to see others reporting these facts. We are no longer a lone voice in the wilderness
