Years ago the Stilo backed Town Council tossed aside the talent and expertise of Coconino County when it came to permitting and inspection services.

Instead the Council hired independent contractors .

Back then the Town crowed about cutting ties to Coconino. These days not so much. The Town Council is seeking a dialogue with Coconino County for building permitting and inspection services. The decision comes after months of complaints about outside contractor billing and other service issues.

Members tried to justify the move by sheepishly claiming their relationship is better these days with Coconino County. Perhaps they realized they didn’t have it so bad a few years ago.
