Tusayan Crime Rate Remains Low

December 12, 2012

The crime rate in Tusayan is relatively low and the Coconino County Sheriff’s office hopes it stays that way. Lt. Mark Christian says there were 15 property crimes in Tusayan between July and October and 10 crimes against persons. Although the population is small, millions of tourists pass through the area every year.

Christian says the goal is to demonstrate a continued presence in Tusayan and make sure a deputy is visible every day. Christian says that includes business checks and foot patrols. He delivered that message at the December 5th Council meeting.

The crime reports from July to October also show nine accidents, seven disorderly conduct incidents and 4 drug arrests.
