Tusayan Town Council Election Sees Incumbents Running Unopposed

April 2, 2024

Four candidates are seeking four office on the Tusayan Town Council. April first was the deadline for Town Council candidates to file nominating paperwork to be placed on the July 30th primary ballot. Three council seats and the mayor’s office are on the ballot. The current office holders, Mayor Clarinda Vail and Council Members Andrew Aldaz, Greg Brush, and Kathryn Kanallakan are the only ones who filed nominating petitions. Unless someone drops out, the slate of candidates will be re-elected July 30th.

Mayor Clarinda Vail is eager to continue her service to Tusayan, “I have chosen to run for mayor again to continue to build upon what the council has done or has gotten started since being elected in 2020. Tusayan is a unique place to live and an amazing community to be a part of. I continue with the vision that all people in Tusayan need to be represented. As mayor I hope for us all to work together to make sure we get to continue/finish what we’ve started and bring new ideas to Tusayan.”

The voter registration deadline for the Primary Election is July 1st.
