Tusayan Celebrates Holidays With Santa, Tree Lighting, and Drone Show

More than 200 people attended Tusayan’s Holiday Lighting Event December 7th at the Tusayan Sports Complex.

Following the dedication of the new Ramada, guests enjoyed soup and hot chocolate and a visit from Santa.

As the sun set, Mayor Clarinda Vail presided as the town Christmas tree and holiday lights were switched on.

A drone show followed featuring 50 drones programmed to make a series of colorful displays above the crowd. Here is a link to some highlights.

Members of the Tusayan Sanitary and Fire Districts attended along with the Grand Canyon School District.

Coconino County District One Supervisor Patrice Horstman was also there, “I love this part of my district and love working with the folks up here in Tusayan and the Mayor and the Town Council.”

Mayor Clarinda Vail said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, and sincere thanks to the volunteers and staff who worked so hard to make this event happen.”
