Tusayan Cuts Ribbon on New Ramada

A new amenity in Tusayan is open. The Town of Tusayan has cut the ribbon for its new ramada at the sports complex. It was built in cooperation with the Grand Canyon School District.

Mayor Clarinda Vail said, “We are very excited to have the ramada for all of us and for future generations here in Tusayan to have more offerings here at the sports complex.”

School Board President Kate Densmore said, “It has been a really collaborative process. The School Board and the Town of Tusayan have a great working relationship.”

Densmore said the ramada would be a great place for families to gather as well as it being use as an outdoor classroom.

In addition to the covered structure, the ramada also includes a large paved area.

Progress on the ramada was put back on track by Mayor Vail and the current Town Council.

It was a multiple ribbon cutting to represent the ramada, a new fire truck, and improvements to Long Jim Loop Road.

The ribbon cutting ceremony also included Fire Chief/ Councilmember Greg Brush, Sanitary District Board member and former Mayor Pete Shearer, and Councilmembers Andrew Aldaz, Josh Collet, Sanitary District/Fire District Member John Vail, School Superintendent Matt Yost,  and members of the Tusayan Fire District.
