The Town of Tusayan is seeking proposals from engineers, architects, and others to come up with a Sports Complex Master Plan and Feasibility Study.

Tusayan has been working on this project in conjunction with the Grand Canyon School District with the goal of turning the 31-acre site into a gathering and recreational space for Tusayan and the surrounding community. A request seeking proposals went out June 1st. Here is a link to that request.

The deadline to submit a proposal is July 17.

The complex already has a sports court and community garden. That’s just the beginning. The long-term goal is to include sports fields suitable for recreation and competition. It could also include indoor recreation spaces.

The team selected is expected gather public input, make recommendations, and eventually create a master plan with cost estimates.
