Tusayan Gets Ready To Celebrate July 4th With Free Drone Light Show, Parade, Live Music

June 24, 2021

Because the 4th of July is in the middle of wildfire season Tusayan has always looked for creative ways to celebrate the holiday without fireworks. This year Tusayan is celebrating with 100 drones after sunset on the fourth (and third) of July.

Local bands including Exit 64 and the Boulder Alley Boys will be performing next to guest artist Michael Grimm (America’s Got Talent) starting at 4:30pm on the 4th.  Food, Beer, and a kids zone will all be available (at additional cost). The events will be held off highway 64 at the IMAX.

Other entertainment throughout the day includes a bike decorating competition for kids starting at 2:30 and a parade themed “Our Grand Community United we stand” at 3:30pm. Spectators can watch from anywhere along Highway 64. The deadline to enter a parade display is close of business Friday. Email the entry form to tusayantownmanager@tusayan-az.gov.

You can download the form here.

There will be a special media preview drone show after sunset on Saturday the 3rd at the same place off Highway 64.

Mayor Clarinda Vail heralded the celebration, “We are excited to see (the return) of the Fourth of July parade and events that will be happening this year.”

Vice Mayor Brady Harris said, "After COVID we wanted to celebrate our 10th anniversary in a unique way.  A ‘United We Stand, Our Grand Community’ themed Drone Light Show seemed perfect.”
