The Tusayan Town Council said it will step up efforts to notify property owners concerning a street light project on Long Jim Loop road and RP Drive

The town is looking at placing a series of street lights near the Town Park. However property owners were notified about where the poles would be placed or about the impact of extra lighting in residential areas including RP Drive.

Tusayan Resident Clarinda Vail said, “How big are the lights going to be. We don’t want anything that is going to be driving more people to that (residential) area. If we want to do it there is probably a better way to go about it.”

The Town Council told staff to keep property owners in the loop as APS continues its street lighting study.
