Relief From Utility Bills May Be On The Way

January 25, 2018

The Tusayan Town Council is looking to provide financial assistance to residents struggling with high propane bills. The issue came up during the January 18th Town Council Retreat held in Laughlin, Nevada.

Employers such as Elling Halvorson provide older homes to employees with poor insulation. As a result the propane bills are sky high. The town is thinking about using housing authority funds to assist those enduring Halvorson housing as well as others.

There may also be incentives for employers such as Halvorson to make his employee housing more energy efficient.

The Town Attorney is looking at the legality of subsidies and incentives.

The issue does not apply to employers such as Red Feather which offers its employees modern apartment style housing.
