PHOENIX – The master plan study process for Grand Canyon National Park Airport, owned and operated by the Arizona Department of Transportation, continues with a public information workshop Thursday, Aug. 24, in Phoenix.

Those attending the open house, to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Capitol Historic Museum, 1700 W. Washington St., can review and comment on the study team’s forecast of aviation demand, assessment of current airport facility capabilities and suggested facility improvements to meet anticipated demand over the next 20 years.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires airports to update master plans every 10 years.

The Grand Canyon National Park Airport Master Plan Study began in fall 2015. The current phase of the study presents a preferred development concept along with potential improvements for the airport.
