Tusayan Town Council Briefs

December 27, 2013

Tusayan’s crime rate seems to be remaining on the low side. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office stats from March to October 2013 show that property crime is the most reported with 42 incidents. There were 13 incidents of disorderly conduct, 12 reports related to illegal drugs and 12 calls related to vehicle accidents. The numbers were outlined at the December 18th Council meeting.

The Town Council is also thinking about spending between $24,000 to $30,000 for a pickup truck. It would not be used to handle snow removal.

And the Council is also looking for a location for a potential ‘snow play ‘area. Basically it would be public space for sledding. The town is scouting out locations where snowfall is likely to linger.
