Tusayan Set To Spend Millions

March 25, 2013

Tusayan is assembling the elements if its budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  Priorities include a parking study, landscaping highway 64, a shuttle service, and marketing, just to name a few.

Right now there are no numbers associated with these items.

That will come later. The Town hopes to fill in the blanks by July 24th.

While many of the expenses would occur with or without incorporation, a large portion of government spending is the direct result of incorporation. Those items include Town hall completion, a town hall phone system, salaries for Town Council members, and reimbursements for council members to cover technology expenses.

Last year, the budget was $4.3 million, a considerable sum for a town of about 500 people.
