Welcome to the Grand Canyon Community News Weekly email for October 24th. Our goal is to combine all Grand Canyon area Activities, Events, Meetings, Volunteer Opportunities in one newsletter and send it out weekly. If you have something to contribute please click the links below.

 

Get out and vote Tuesday November 6th!  Grand Canyon School would like to make everyone aware of Proposition 425 that if passed will continue a 9.3% maintenance and operations override that was last approved in 2013.  If approved the override would continue for another 7 years.  If not approved the current override will be reduced by 1/3 per year for the next 3 years and place a strain or possibly cause loss of full day kindergarten, music, fine art and PE.  Please contact Grand Canyon school if you would like additional information.

 

Grand Canyon Community Church will holds it's 54th annual Christmas Baazar at The Grand Hotel on Saturday December 1st from 8 am - 2 pm.  All are welcome to come shop and if you want to be a vendor please contact Mike Scott.

Grand Canyon Yearbook Staff - would like to include you in the creation of their 2018-2019 Shadows yearbook.  For as little as $50 you can place an advertisement in the yearbook that will be instantly cherished for years to come. Coconino County is once again holding an Aerobic Winter Challenge.  We had many groups from GC participate last year - it's a great way to stay motivated, healthy and have some fun competition with fellow co-workers and businesses.  Register here  it ends Friday Oct 26th.

 

Veteran Services returning November 1st from    10 am - 2 pm at Grand Canyon Recreation in the piano room.  Joshua Wear from the VA will be here to assist  with benefit counseling, employment services, VA Health Services Counseling, Veteran Service Connection Advisement, assistance with Mental Health access and VA Health Care Enrollment Services.   No appointment necessary just stop by.  Joshua hopes to make this a regular monthly service. FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET and CHROMEBOOK USE at Tusayan Town Hall every Friday morning from 9am-1pm. Students and local residents welcome! Schoolwork or personal use. Assistance provided by Grand Canyon School staff members. Drop-ins are welcome! Come and take advantage of speedy internet! Contact Cherie Benefield for details. Old Cars needed for Fire Training: Need to get rid of a useless car? You can donate them to the fire department for training. If you do please contact Ray or Greg at 928-648-3473 Thank you in advance.
